Six days, two weekends, lots of music and sunshine and even a little rain…it was such an honor for us to be involved with ACL this year!
Our booth was set up within Austin Kiddie Limits, a separate area within the festival made just for kids. Through the giant gates flanked with more paper than a piñata factory, the stall we shared with Austin Allies was such a hit! We had a table set up in front of the booth where kids could decorate masks. It was busy all weekend! We had such a great time seeing what the kids came up with on their masks. And Austin Allies had kids making little egg shakers, so it was a pretty creative weekend all around.
There were lots of other activities there for kids, musical acts, photo booths, even a cool kids-only lounge area. It’s great to see people out supporting creativity in children, something Leap of Joy strives to do at every turn. As we’ve been talking about in this blog, it’s so important to nurture the urge to create in children when they’re young so they continue with it when they’re older. And it’s great to see that Austin City Limits has recognized all the kids that come to the festival with their parents.
We had baskets of bracelets that we handed out to everyone we met—which was a lot of people! We genuinely hope to see new faces come around to our upcoming events.
Speaking of events, our next fundraiser is coming up on November 10th! It’s called “Let it Go” and it’s going to be a lot of fun! We are looking for volunteers, so if anyone has some time to spare on November 10th to help us out, please email Judy at email@example.com.
Thanks for reading! We’ll be back next week to talk more about Let it Go…get ready! We’re really excited about it!
